Two people have been taken to hospital following a house fire in Thornlie this evening.

Initial reports said two people were found unresponsive at the Rushbrook Way property soon after firefighters arrived about 6pm.

Police say an elderly man and child were transferred to Fiona Stanley Hospital in a critical condition.

Firefighters at the scene say all the occupants of the house have been accounted for.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
