The Gangemi family has not looked back since they traded busy Cockburn Central for a quieter life at The Reef at Two Rocks.
Nicole and Paul Gangemi said they felt blessed to be living a “dream lifestyle in their dream home” since they moved into their newly completed two-storey house with their two young children, Anthony, 12, and Alex, 9.
The Gangemis first moved to a rental at Pindan’s The Reef development in October 2015 before purchasing and building on a 498sqm homesite which sits between two parks and boasts ocean views.
Mrs Gangemi said the family chose The Reef as they were seeking a quiet lifestyle for Anthony, who is autistic, while staying in close proximity to essential medical services.
“My husband also wanted to be near the marina for fishing and it was important that we lived in an area with good schools for our boys’ education, and ease of employment for me as I am the Canteen Manager at Two Rocks Primary School and also cook at a local restaurant,” she said.
Getting their ‘lifestyle balance’ right and being able to participate in community and family-orientated activities was also high on the family’s wish list.
“Living at The Reef means the children can walk to school, the shops and local parks – things that they couldn’t do in Cockburn as it was too busy,” Mrs Gangemi said.
“Community is also important to us as we both volunteer at the primary school and with Two Rocks Marine Sea Rescue.”
Mrs Gangemi said Pindan worked very closely with their builder to design their ideal house within the developer’s guidelines.
“Having all three parties in constant communication made the process both smooth and quick,” she said.
“The ease of this build, in terms of working with the developer, has been second to none.”
Having settled in, the Gangemis are now considering buying an investment property at The Reef for when their children leave home.
“We wish to make The Reef our forever area and a place to retire,” Mrs Gangemi said.
Pindan Sales Agent Dane Rawlings said sales had been strong in recent months, particularly for first homebuyers after the $5000 boost to the First Home Owner Grant.
“The grant jumped from $10,000 to $15,000 for contracts entered into from January 1, 2017 until December 31, 2017, for the purchase or construction of a new home, so now is great time to take advantage of the increase,” he said.
“Lots in our new Parkside release, ranging in size from 225sqm to 629sqm, are currently priced from just $119,500.
“There are also a number of titled lots available, ready to build your dream home straight away, ranging in size from 367sqm to 533sqm.
“These lots are priced from $160,000, many with ocean views.”
