GOLD Coaster Archie Hill is dancing on air after being hand-picked to perform with Justin Bieber tonight in Brisbane.
The Carrara dancer and actor is one of four talented young Queenslanders who will bust a move with the controversial Canadian pop star when he performs his hit Children for more than 45,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium.
“It’s an amazing opportunity — a once in a lifetime chance,” the St Vincent’s Primary School student said.
A budding actor whose credits include the recent Paul Hogan miniseries, feature films and a string of TV commercials, Archie has been studying dance at Sheridan Studio 1, at Ashmore, since he was just two and a half years old.
His fancy footwork won over Bieber’s creative team as part of an international search for local
dancers in each city Bieber visits on his Purpose world tour.
Archie had to learn the steps to Bieber’s Children dance routine, download the song, film himself performing it and upload the footage to Youtube with the hashtag #purposetourchildren.
“Every night after school for the past two and a half weeks he’s asked me, ‘have you heard from Justin Bieber yet?’ Archie’s mum, Amber Hill, said.

The audition video that landed Gold Coast dancer Archie Hill, 9, the chance to perform with Justin Bieber in Brisbane.
Late on Friday, Archie finally received the news he’d been waiting for — he’d won the chance to dance with Bieber in Brisbane.
“It was so awesome,” he said.
“I was in complete shock because I get to dance with my idol.”
Bieber hit the headlines again yesterday after making a list of demands to play with top-level ice hockey team Melbourne Ice — before freezing them out with an ice-cold snub.
Bieber, who wanted to play with the Australian Ice Hockey League team at O’Brien Group Arena at Docklands, asked team officials to find him a “particular” hockey stick with “white grip tape, not black” and players aged 23 — his age — and under to play with him.
“They were running around all day (sourcing the hockey stick),” an official said.
However, the star ditched his plans to play hockey at the last minute, opting to take a boat road and a night swim at Crown Resort instead.
Bieber was scheduled to fly from Melbourne to the Gold Coast yesterday but flew into Brisbane on his private jet late last night.
Gates for tonight’s show open at Suncorp Stadium at 5.30pm, with Sheppard onstage at 6.10pm, Martin Garrix at 6.55pm and Bieber due onstage at 8.15pm.
