Kate Ritchie admits conduct with Karl Stefanovic dreadful

Alex Michael For Daily Mail Australia

She’s one of Australia’s most celebrated entertainers.

But even Kate Ritchie admits she can sometimes go too far, especially during heated segments on her Kate Tim & Marty radio show on Nova.

Speaking to news.com.au on Wednesday, the 39-year-old acknowledged her antics during a segment with Karl Stefanovic on Tuesday were ‘appalling.’

‘I know that my behaviour playing Quick Draw is appalling and I’m fine to act that way in front of the blokes,’ Kate said.

Her serious tone when speaking to the publication was mostly in jest however, as Quick Draw is just the show’s lighthearted fastest-finger-first quiz game.

As the segment’s popularity grew throughout the year, the personality became increasingly competitive.

The tension in the studio on Tuesday was palpable as Kate risked it all to beat ‘comeback King’ Karl in a rematch, after he trounced her last-time.

During her victorious bout, she was frequently seen yelling and clapping her hands to her face in desperation, but never veered into unacceptable conduct.

The former Home and Away star also responded to complaints that there was a lack of female guests competing in the segment this year.

‘The boys give me a hard time about being “anti-ladies” in the studio which is absolutely false,’ she told the publication.

‘But I have to say, it’s what makes me most nervous because maybe I have a little more respect for the women that step inside the studio.’

Kate also happily confirmed the Nova trio will be back next year with the same lineup.
