For one lucky Perth couple, their wedding day truly was a touch of paradise.
The newly married Nicole and Reuben Barlow eschewed the traditional function centre for their wedding reception on Saturday and instead attended a John Farnham concert.
A lifelong Farnham fan, Mrs Barlow said all she hoped for was to get a selfie of her in her wedding dress with the Australian music legend in the background.
But Aria-award winning singer went one step better and asked the happy couple to join him onstage for special rendition of hit 80s hit Touch of Paradise.
Ms Barlow said her father had died several years earlier while her husband’s father could attend the wedding because he was undergoing chemotherapy.
She said Farnham filled the role of father-of-the bride perfectly.
“He sang to us and then he took us both in to his arms and did what we needed our fathers to do,” she said.
“He embraced us with love and compassion.
“It was tough not having my dad walk me down the aisle but he sure showed up from Heaven, giving us a beautiful rainbow right after the show.”
Ms Barlow said she couldn’t thank Farnham enough for making their wedding day even more special.
“Not only is he Australia’s king of music, but he really is one of the nicest blokes in this country,” she said.
