The first season in the return of men’s and women’s touch football in Kununurra will end with two grand finals on Monday.
In the men’s semifinals, the minor premiers Smashed Crabs were the first through to the big crab dance with a 7-2 win against the Argyle Lakers.
The second semifinal was won by Tricky Bandits on a forfeit when the Hornets had to field players from other teams.
Both teams duked it out in the first half with a tit-for-tat scoring run, unaware of the predetermined result.
In the second half the intensity left the game as the bench stopped taking score and the Bandits piled on the tries.
Kunnacows smashed Can’t Touch This in the last round of the regular women’s season.
They got up 8-0 but both teams miss out on the grand final which will be played between the highest finishers on the ladder, One Red Brew and Try Me, who played each other in the final round, the former winning 5-4.
The grand finals will be Monday with Crabs versus Bandits first at 6pm, followed by the ladies at 6.50pm when One Red Brew takes on Try Me.
