Waterfront homes in hot demand

A SYDNEY buyer has beaten many other interested parties to purchase a sought-after waterfront home in Tuggerawong.

No. 372 Tuggerawong Rd sold for $850,000 last week by private treaty after just five weeks on
the market.

Despite modest, modern interiors, the four-bedder attracted over 30 groups to inspections, including some with budgets of up to $2 million.

372 Tuggerawong Rd, Tuggerawong, was inspected by a range of buyers.

“It came down to two buyers fighting it out,” said agent Jason Graham, of Jayson Property Group.

The buyers were a couple who were downsizing from a home in Sydney’s Hills district, and Mr Graham said those interested in the property were “a mix of locals, retirees, and people relocating from Sydney”.

He said strong interest from such a varied mix of interests was not uncommon for waterfront homes in the area, which were in big demand but rarely came on the market.

“One of the biggest issues we’re finding at the moment is a lack of stock, especially on the waterfront,” Mr Graham said.

“We have the buyers, we just need properties.”

The property offered four bedrooms, three bathrooms and three car spaces.

High interest in waterfront homes was reflected in the home’s sale price, which was well above the $467,500 median for Tuggerawong.

The home’s sellers decided to move on after buying a new property on the Central Coast.
