Yanchep grandmother fears for life as man attacks her home with chainsaw in random attack

It happened just before six this morning in Yanchep.

Police are on the hunt for a man who attacked a northern suburbs home with a chainsaw in the early hours of this morning.

Perth grandmother, Bev Miller, awoke to find the man hacking at her front door in the frenzied attack just before 6am.

Security vision shows the man taking the weapon to the front door and then the window of her Lindsay Beach Boulevard home in Yanchep.

Police are now hunting the random attacker, who was hiding his face when he carried out the bizarre attack.

The frenzied attack was captured on security cameras at the Yanchep home this morning.

Ms Miller was at home with her six-year-old granddaughter when the incident occurred.

She said the chainsaw blade came within inches of her face after she tried to scare him off.

“I screamed through the window, which was a bit stupid,” she said.

“And he just came at me with the chainsaw.

“He smashed one side and then I ran inside and closed the doors and everything.”

Police are investigating.
