30-second guide to Broome

With Qantas’ reduced-fare weekend flights between Perth and Broome to begin in August, we reveal what travellers will have to look forward to in the Kimberley town.

Now is the time to head to Broome: May to October is the dry season, with pleasantly warm temperatures, sunny days and blue skies.

If you’re looking to escape the winter cold and rain in WA’s south, Broome’s warm weather will be a welcome reprieve.

Both Virgin and Qantas have daily direct flights between Broome and Perth, and Qantas has made headlines recently with its commitment to offer discounted weekend flights for $199 one-way during the high season.

Alternatively, hitch up the caravan and drive: it’ll take about three days driving at a comfortable pace with overnight stops in, say, Carnarvon and Port Hedland.
