A Perth man is out of an induced coma in a positive sign two weeks after being bashed and critically injured by a teenager who gatecrashed a party he was hosting at this home.
Ryan Ball, 38, was hosting a school ball after-party for his friends’ children on February 26, and was critically injured trying to get rid of gatecrashers fighting in the street as guests left.
He was put into an induced coma at Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries and regained consciousness late last week.
Mr Ball was stable but still in a critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman told AAP on Monday.
Police charged an 18-year-old over the attack, and also over breaking the jaw of a 17-year-old boy who was at the party.
He has been charged with grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm.
