The ABC’s long-time WA news editor Kim Jordan has announced his departure from the corporation.
Mr Jordan, who began his journalism career at The Herald and Weekly Times, sent an email to his ABC colleagues this afternoon.
“I’m leaving the ABC,” he wrote.
“News management has kindly agreed to let me take accrued long service leave so my official departure date off the books will be next year.
“I’ll physically leave here in June.
“This arrangement gives ABC News time to recruit a new editor and me to offer any help that person may need.”
Mr Jordan was previously an executive producer for the 7.30 Report, as well as a state political reporter and a print features editor.
