Man arrested over Clarkson deli armed hold-up

A man has been arrested after a convenience store gunpoint hold-up in Clarkson.

Police said about 8.30pm last night the man and a second suspect entered Clarkson Minimart on Ainsbury Parade and threatened the shop owner with a firearm.

The owner was not injured and the man fled the scene in a white Toyota Hilux which was stopped by police at a toilet block on Aldersea Circle.

The driver ran and a search involving officers and canine back-up found him nearby at shops on Renshaw Boulevard and he was arrested.

It is not known at this stage if anything was stolen.

It is understood the second suspect is still on the loose.

The offence was caught on CCTV.
