The Margaret River Wine Association has appointed Amanda Whiteland as its new marketing manager after a strategic restructure.
Ms Whiteland has worked as Cape Mentelle’s marketing manager and in Paris for Luis Vuitton-Moet Hennessy, and as Fosters Wine Estates’ regional manager based in Tokyo.
MRWA president Cath Oates said Ms Whiteland had “extensive experience working in cross-cultural and challenging environments in both large and small organisations”.
“Amanda brings unique skills and wide-ranging experience to the association, having a strong understanding of the fine wine industry, key international markets and the local South West region,” she said.
Ms Oates said key responsibilities of the new role would be “marketing planning, brand management and stakeholder communications”.
Ms Whiteland said she looked forward to promoting the region’s premium brand.
“The success of Margaret River will be around telling that Margaret River story really engagingly and making sure stories have unique selling points and engaging elements,” she said.
“I’m really excited about the role and looking forward to learning from the locals.”
Ms Whiteland replaces chief executive Nick Power, who left the association on March 8.
