Drivers of two cars travelling behind a school bus were lucky to escape serious injury when a black Mitsubishi Triton ute crashed into their vehicles.

Police are now searching for the driver of the ute who fled the scene.

Police traffic officers are calling for witnesses to the crash in the northern Perth suburb of Hocking at 8.30am this morning.

The ute crashed into the back of the two stationary vehicles that had stopped behind a school bus picking up students on Chatsworth Drive near Georgia Road.

Police say the Mitsubishi continued on, mounted the kerb and drove a short distance before turning into Georgia Road.

The drivers of the stationary vehicles received minor injuries.

Traffic officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash, have dash cam vision of the incident or who saw the Mitsubishi Triton before the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online www.crimestopperswa.com.au
